Kyiv journalist Nicholas Hrienko overcame 118 thousand kilometers to recreate the history of Ukrainian migration at different times of ethnic territories beyond the Urals. So in June Hrienko completed his journalistic project "Ukrainians beyond the Urals", launched in July 2004. Hrienko said that June 30 of this year, he returned from Russia, where he completed last long research route that ran through the area between the Arctic Circle and the coastline of the Arctic Ocean from Cape Dezhnev and villages Whelan (Chukotka) to Murmansk that Kola the peninsula. During the first phase of the project "Ukrainians beyond the Urals", which lasted from 7 July 2004 to February 11, 2005, Kyiv Hrienko broke through on the Ural, Altai, Khakassia, Yakutia, Kolyma and Chukotka to the village Whelan and Cape Dezhnev 27 thousand kilometers, and along the road back to Ukraine all the traversed path length equal to the Earth's equator - 40 thousand kilometers. During the second phase, which lasted from 16 June 2007 to October 19, 2007, journalist collected extremely interesting material about the lives of our countrymen in Kamchatka, Sakhalin, and the Kuril Islands majo Commander. The total length of performed route to the final destination of the island Kunashir and back to Kyiv - 33 thousand kilometers. Route third final stage consisted of two parts. The first ran from the village to the city Bilibino Whelan (Chukotka) and overcome it lasted from April 26 to July 8, 2009. The second part of the final route was from Bilibino to Murmansk from 26 March to 30 June 2010. The total length of this phase - 45 thousand kilometers. Hrienko said that, in addition to articles in the press materials from the author's photographs of life of our compatriots Urals and the Arctic Circle, he plans supported by sponsors and government agencies to publish a book, photo and demonstrate the author's photo exhibition titled "Ukrainians beyond the Urals.
