Anyways, once again, a Johto evolution manages to be quite a bit more boring than its prevolution. Chinchou had these crazy unusual eyes. Chinchou had a much greater emphasis on the bioluminscent lures. Chinchou had feet for heaven’s sake. What does Lanturn have?
Don’t get me wrong, Lanturn isn’t offensive or bad or anything. It’s just similar to Noctowl in that it doesn’t capitalize well enough on anything interesting Chinchou was doing.
That said, I will always like Lanturn’s Green Lantern-esque mask. That pun can’t possibly be intentional because of translation reasons and because Japan probably has no idea what Green Lantern is but I don’t care!
